Nomad Schools
Prior to the year 1953, the only way nomadic children could get a formal education was for their parents to settle down in a village. As this was unthinkable to the nomadic way of life, many children didn’t receive the education they deserved. Due to a lack of high schools in these villages, even if the children managed to go to school they didn’t go beyond elementary class. In 1953 the first mobile school was founded – teachers that moved along with the nomad families. Zollanvari has been sponsoring these teachers since the 90’s, so that nomad children can get a better education.
Financial Support
Ever since Zollanvari began doing business with the nomads, Mr. Gholamreza Zollanvari has supported them in every possible way. To improve health, he financially supports hospitals maternity clinics, helps to build waterlines, schools and winter quarters and donates heaters. To support their culture, Gholamreza helps widows by giving pensions, small loans and offers work as spinners to senior nomads who cannot weave anymore. Zollanvari even sponsors the soccer team of a Qashgai tribe.
